ODIN NEW YORK Joins as Participating Sponsor As We Salute All Our Brothers Who Support Us On This Father’s Day!

odin-nyc-new-location    We are so proud to announce Odin New York as a Participating Sponsor at our upcoming #Back2Tabac #NYCPride2015 fundraiser event sponsored by MAC Cosmetics and Absolut Vodka on Wednesday, June 24th. And today on this Father’s Day, we wanted to take an opportunity to thank all the men who have staunchly supported our project from its onset and have showed up in big ways including participating in this upcoming event as a member of the host committee and as sponsors.

Participating Sponsor Odin New York, which also gave birth to the destination women’s shop in the East Village Pas De Deux, have made their mark in the men’s fashion world and the world of “cool” as the purveyor of beautifully-designed well-constructed men’s clothing and accessories (which to be honest, many a lesbian have ogled over) sold in their concept shops and online. They have also embarked on a fragrance line which includes candles, that also has been making its mark in the fragrance world, unique in its complex notes and unisex appeal. In any endeavor, Odin New York is known as the brand of “taste,” reflected even in the artful packaging of their fragrances as featured in this Vanity Fair article. Thanks to Odin New York, VIP’s at our upcoming event will go home with a special treat from their absolutely gorgeous fragrance line!

Although Odin New York’s business primarily caters to the men’s market, they understand the value of envisioning an integrated world and supporting women. From the first charity they ever donated funds to,  The Lower Eastside Girls Club, to lending their support at our event which will raise funds for our “Sundays at Café Tabac” film about empowering women, they are not only business leaders, but they practice an expansive vision that serves the well-being of our community. We are grateful to be a part of Odin New York’s community and want to salute them for their support this Father’s Day. And as with all the sponsors associated with our Café Tabac project, we invite you to support Odin New York and all these awesome businesses so that they can continue to support our endeavors and contribute to the well-being of the world at large.

Today we also salute the important men who have supported this project, graciously lending their services as host committee for the fundraiser event.

Alan Cumming, multi-award-winning stage/film/TV actor and recent host of the Tony Awards.

Hilton Als, the inimitable and esteemed writer for the New Yorker, who was also interviewed in our film and was a regular at the original Café Tabac.

Jean-Marc Houmard, co-owner of our Event Sponsor Indochine, Acme and some of the greatest restaurants/bars downtown New York has ever seen; he was also one of our film interviewees.

Michael Musto, entertainment journalist, TV personality and icon of the downtown queer club scene. He was interviewed for our film and gave a powerful account of the unprecedented grand strides made in the LGBTQ movement as a result of how unified our efforts were, of men and women working together in the early ’90s, in the fight against AIDS and for LGBT rights.

We are so grateful to be aligned with these incredibly talented men—leaders who understand the importance of the documentation of our history and positive representations in the media. They understand the importance of channeling resources to our projects and causes as a way of challenging discrepancies in the gender gap. And that by supporting the empowerment of women, we help make the world a better place for all.

Thank you Odin New York! Thank you Alan, Hilton, Jean-Marc, and Michael! We look forward to celebrating Pride with you this year! And we are so proud to have you by our side.

THE EVENT is on WEDNESDAY June 24th, 2015
